The constant search of the artist is  the "space" in all its forms, not only physical but also through the investigation of the symbol which, according to Ruggiero, in art and in literary work as well, belongs to a mythical world, parallel to the material dimension.

Oreste Ruggiero engages in this search space-symbol-myth through all his work; from art, to architecture, literature, landscape; arguing that these "arts", should find again the propelling harmony that generated fertile periods such as the Quattrocento and the beginning of the twentieth-century avant-gards.
